Tony Vincent is no doubt an advocate for technology use in
the classroom. My first impression of his profile was that he retweets quite a
bit. I tried to find an original tweet and found one I thought was very helpful
and interesting. Vincent created a list of several apps that are available on
iPad and Android. It is so neatly organized by different educational
categories. I appreciate the display of icons and brief descriptions of each
app underneath. I agree with Vincent that it is important to have a common set
of apps to provide more opportunity to collaborate in the classroom. He states
that “using the same apps can help in classrooms that embrace Bring Your Own
Device (BYOD)/Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT). “ I had never heard of
classrooms such as these before. Unfortunately in my own campus where I teach, we
have limited technology resources and I think this is a great way to integrate
digital learning in the classroom. Students love to bring their electronics to
school and by allowing them to take ownership of their learning by using their
personal devices, they will enjoy the school setting more. Tony Vincent’s tweets
certainly provide useful information and I will definitely continue following
him on Twitter.
