How much do you support students taking ownership of technology?
Linda W. Braun @lbraun2000 tweets the following supportive statement on technology in schools:

After following the link to the Edutopia article, I was amazed at what a teachers and administrator dedication could do to support student success in areas of technology. Students
are so smart and capable of doing much as long as they are given that support
from educators and parents. This article reminded me of a club that is
sponsored at my own elementary campus called the Digital Masters. These kids
create promotion videos for our school’s events, use video media to create
funny videos for our school’s student blog that is put on our campus website and
even learn to create their own video games.
Students
highlighted in Edutopia attend Black River Middle School and are called the
Tech Detectives. They have created tutorials to assist teachers when setting up
their own electronic devices in the classroom. They are in the sixth grade and
already have a passion for technology! It is amazing how they are given the
opportunity in their school to pursue their interests making learning a
self-directed experience as they take ownership for their projects.
This
school is definitely doing their job in providing their students with the most
contemporary learning opportunities in our world today. Great post by Linda
Braun @lbraun2000.
