Schrock is another important leader in educational
technology. After reading some of her posts I found one of her recent tweets to
be very informative. Schrock posted her updated online tools page link. She has these tools organized by categories followed by a
suggestion box entry for viewers to add a URL and a brief overview of site to a
new online tool. This website, full of useful sites to use provides a great
sort of online library.
I tried some of the tools and played around with Realtime Board. I found it is a great way to collaborate on projects and assignments for both teachers and students. You are able to upload documents and various types of media onto a virtual white board with different template options. The virtual board can be used to collaborate with others as it can be edited by all participants in real time!
I still want to continue to get familiar with other collaboration tools because I feel like there is so much out there that I don’t know about as far as resources for teaching and learning. I greatly appreciate Kathy Schrock for being a leader in technology and going out of her way to provide easier access to these tools by creating this list. Sometimes I find myself a bit overwhelmed trying to decide which tools offer the best support, and even thinking about which tools are appropriate is another factor to consider. I believe Schrock is a trusted individual and I can count on her educational technology expertise to choose the best online tools for my classroom and future career as a librarian. I will definitely continue to follow her on Twitter.
